Storage Tips
- Consider preparing your storage space by placing a plastic sheet on the floor underneath your goods.
- Leave an air space around the unit's perimeter to aid in the ventilation.
- Place frequently used items near the front of the unit.
- To protect from dust, cover all of your stored possessions with a light plastic sheet and allow for ventilation.
- Pack stereos, cameras, and other high value items in unmarked boxes toward the rear of the storage unit.
- Take time when packing dishes and glasses. Place a layer of packing paper inside the bottom and top of cartons. Plates and glasses should be wrapped individually. It's best to stack plates on edge.
- Prop appliance doors open. Make sure the appliances are clean. Freezer, refrigerator, washer and dryer cartons are excellent for packing bedding, towels and clothing.
- Pack books flat to protect their spines. Do not place boxes directly on floor. Line all book cartons with plastic.
- Wipe the surface of bicycles, tools, and other metal items with a slightly oily rag to prevent rusting.
- Protect furniture and mattresses. Place a pallet, cardboard mat, or plastic sheet on the floor and stand sofas on end.
- Make sure you NEVER store food items. We all know that there are rodents everywhere. Please take precautionary measures to protect your stored items by placing bait traps or moth balls in your unit.
- Old photographs tend to curl over time. To keep them flat place them between two pieces of cardboard and tape the cardboard together.
What Size Do I Need?
5' x 10' Storage Unit
A 5’x10’ storage unit can hold a queen-size bed, a few chairs and a dresser, and extra storage boxes. Drop off a TV or other large appliances, or park your bike inside a safe, clean spot for the winter. You can even store a desk or extra office equipment. Most units have eight foot ceilings, so a little space goes a long way.
10' x 10' Storage Unit
A 10’x10’ unit can hold about as much as an entire family room, or two extra bedrooms. Load in a mattress set, bookcases, tables and dressers. Or pack away that old couch, or set aside old books or appliances you’re no longer using. This space is a great way to keep your things safe, secure, and clean. A ten by ten unit can also hold the contents of an entire office, including desks, chairs, files, and storage boxes.
10' x 15' Storage Unit
A 10’x15’ storage unit provides plenty of room to store larger items such as pianos, couches, tables, or big screen TVs. Most units have eight foot ceilings, giving you plenty of room to stack things up. A ten by fifteen unit gives you a secure, tidy spot to safeguard all your goods. It’s like having three spare bedrooms that are available whenever you need them.
8' x 20' Shipping Container
The newest addition to our products, an 8' x 20' shipping container is airtight, sealed and the most secure, heavy duty container we can offer.
10' x 20' Storage Unit
A 10’x20’ gives you two hundred square feet of room - that’s enough to store the contents of a five-bedroom house. Large appliances are no problem for a ten by twenty unit. Even most cars will fit in this unit. Drop off your refrigerator, washer and dryer, or dining room set. Roll in a pool table, or box up all your office paperwork and tax files for secure storage.
